Abstract

Wine Tourism: Scientific Literature Analysis in Cross-cultural Research of Doctoral Thesis. The works of literature review focused on the analysis of articles published in scientific journals are plentiful, but they are not so, those using doctoral theses as the basis of his study. They constitute an important frame of reference to know the latest scientific contributions, both conceptual as empirical, carried out in different areas of knowledge. Given its increasing relevance, the fundamental objective of this work is to show, through an analysis of its contents, an overview of the scientific production of doctoral thesis on wine tourism defended in Spain, Portugal, UK and France. Content analysis is a useful research technique for the objective, systematic and quantitative description of the content of any communications and that this work will allow us to determine aspects of the thesis as his authoring, university and department of origin, subject, scope and audience object of study or the methodology (techniques and sources of information). Thus, 14 doctoral theses were obtained, defended all falling within the period between 2008 and 2014 period, showing Spain not only as largest producer of PhDs, but also to as a country where they are located along with Portugal most of the areas or study zones analyzed.
