Abstract
The retail banking sector of Italy is one of the most important financial industry in Europe. The analysis of the number of retail banking institutions, and the main financial data of the biggest entities, its number of brunches, the number and value of total transactions (money transfers, addressing banking orders, checks, payment cards, e-money, and other payment systems) show its importance, and also the local specifies of the Italian retail bank sector.
