Abstract

PURPOSE: The main aim of this study is to know the opinion of the NGOs of Galicia and the North of Portugal about the Corporate Social Responsibility developed by companies and to offer, this way, their vision of how the current companies are and if they get involved or not in the research of social welfare. METHODOLOGY: in order to develop this empirical study, a census has been elaborated with the NGO, using a structured questionnaire as a method for information gathering. RESULTS: we have grouped the different actions which the companies do in the area of Social Responsibility into seven variables, which correspond to the stakeholders: Organization of CSR, employees, competence, society, suppliers, shareholders and customers. CONCLUSIONS: employees, society and customers are considered as the most important stakeholders, although we can emphasize the high value given to all actions concerning the CSR area. The NGOs consider that companies are in a narcissistic stage and that they consider that the shareholder is the most valued stakeholder.
