Resumo

This study has analyzed indexed bibliography from Spanish databases Dialnet and ISOC, the international ones Medline, Psycinfo, Scopus and Web of Knowledge. Qualitative approach has been followed in a non-experimental transactional study. The studies that we have finally analyzed used theatre of the oppressed, dramatherapy, community theatre, theatre of witness and every day theatre, as techniques. Those all have variety of strategies and methodologies, mainly qualitative, among different populations and countries. Bibliometric indicators suggest that most of the publications are journal article type; the index of coauthored articles is very small. The most frequent output language is english, which seems to be the indicator that explains the apparent tendency to isolation in spanish researches. Scientific production in Spain about theatre as a therapeutic strategy is not very relevant. The countries with more research and editorials on the subject (United States, United Kingdom and Canada) are anglophone. Productivity and variety on the publications provide valuable information for further empirical researches, related to the usefulness of theatre in preventing and attending gender violence.
