Abstract

Background: The University of Vigo approved in 2013 the linguistic internationalization plan to promote, among other goals, the development of disciplines in foreign languages in the different degrees. Bearing this in mind, we have tried to analyze the opinion of the students in the bachelor degree of Advertising and Public Relations about the opportunity to take subjects in English. Method: A research survey was carried out through questionnaires available online. With the collected data, a base in Excel format was created, which was then analyzed by using this program. Results: The majority of the people interviewed would be interested in receiving training in English in their degree and even other subjects in this language. Their main motivation would be to learn specific vocabulary in English, although they are aware of their need to work skills related to expression and oral communication. Conclusions: The students find it appealing the opportunity to receive training in English language, even though they are conscious of the effort required to pass a subject taught in a foreign language. In return, they ask the University to provide them with the necessary means to ensure the appropriate English level from teachers and students.
