The Sierra Grande de Córdoba is a tectonic relief or horst developed on a granite massif of multiple intrusion. The landscape is characterized by the association of endogenous and exogenous granite forms clearly zonned: the first ones in the periphery of the horst near the former intrusive border of the magmatic body; the second ones in the internal zone of the massif where the structure does not develop. The generation of granite forms starts with the endogenous ones formed in the intrusive stage while the exogenous ones would do it once they are exposed to the surface. The persistance of endogenous zones closely associated to the exogenous ones proves the scarce relevance of the weathering processes in zones outside the soil cover or drainage supporting the idea of the longtime survival of granite lanscapes when these latter avoid the contact with superficialwaters
