La actividad pesquera en Galicia

Resumo

The fishery sector in Galicia is still marked by uncertainty, and subject to constant transformations in every aspect. When referring toproductivity, the negative tendency in the trend of disbanks and employement, still persists. The state of the fisheries is characterised by the lack of balance between fleet and resources, and by the loss of possibilities to fish in international waters, as well as that of other countries. Commercially, there have been some changes in the distribution channels, both at international level (greater imports from the developing countries) and at a national level (greater weight of the large trading areas). Anyhow, economy in Galicia isstill very dependent upon fishing, and this is why fisheries policy is so important in every case (nationally, between the member states, and internationally).
