Abstract
This paper examines how the public infrastructures affect the Total Factor Productivity of the Spanish regions by focusing specially in the role of public capital in education and health. Furthemore, as a previous step to study how the public infrastructures contribute to the regional disparities in Spain, the paper also analyzes the relative endowment of those infrastructures in the Spanish regions. In this paper, we use the data set of public capital stock that was built by "Fundación BBV-IVIE" for the period from 1964 to 1995.
