Resumo
La llegada del sistema europeo de transferencia de créditos (ECTS) a las universidades españolas supone la consiguiente adaptación de las diferentes materias a este nuevo contexto de aprendizaje-enseñanza. En el caso de la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera, esta adecuación implicaba, entre otras cosas, ofrecer oportunidades para la práctica de la lengua fuera del aula de forma autónoma, fomentar la responsabilidad en el aprendizaje y familiarizar al alumno con las nuevas tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC). La gran variedad y calidad de los materiales y opciones para el aprendizaje de la lengua que pueden obtenerse a través de internet puso de manifiesto la conveniencia de explotar este recurso ya que, además, aporta una inmensa cantidad de información, interactividad, combinación de texto y sonido, auto-corrección y feedback individualizado. No obstante, la abundancia de posibilidades puede transformar un aliado en enemigo por lo que seleccionar, aglutinar y clasificar las diferentes alternativas se manifestó como necesario para explotar las opciones y obtener el máximo aprovechamiento de los recursos. La elaboración y utilización de una página web para la docencia con los objetivos de organizar los contenidos del curso, estructurar el material web a utilizar y familiarizar a los alumnos con lo que las nuevas tecnologías pueden aportarles para el aprendizaje del inglés puede ser un apoyo fundamental en la adaptación al sistema.
