Abstract

During the two first decades of the Francoism a collective memory of the civil war does not exist. A fractured memory exists on which it is constructed to the official memory of the civil war and the repression. From second half of the Sixties a process of approach of the memory of overcome winners takes place and. This process is not the result of a critical assumption of the past nor of an integrating consensus and without exclusions; it is a process directed from certain sectors of the power for which the aspirations of integration in Europe are incompatible with the maintenance of a fractured memory. During the political transition, the construction of an advisable official memory became the central element of praxis political. Its necessity was also assumed by good part of the intellectuals and the society, who adopted a well-taken care of equidistance that located in he himself moral plane to winners and won.
