Resumo
PE programmes, both at schools and for adults, include quite different contents depending on the developmental stage of the subject. The aim of this paper is to describe some basic facts of those contents generally. I have considered five different stages: stages 1-4 deal with the school level whereas stage 5 is about adult life. At this final stage I have not drawn a line dividing contents. It is mainly focused on rules of work for the acquisition, improvement and maintenance of a healthy physical condition. Stages 1-4 deal with those lines of procedural contents more suitable for every stage without specifying types of exercises. As for the scale of effort, I have put forward the suggestion that some degree of effort and consuming of energy should exist in every session and stage. That does not mean that we shouldnt conceive our sessions as devoted to performance but to health with the objective of forging a habit of physical exercise from early ages.
