Resumen

La gran crisis financiera ha supuesto la evidencia de un fallo sistémico en las estructuras establecidas del conocimiento económico, lo que trae consigo la posibilidad de un proceso profundo, schumpeteriano, de destrucción creativa. Estamos, ciertamente, ante una oportunidad crítica de renovación profunda de la teoría macroeconómica, a una escala que solamente se da en circunstancias excepcionales. Sin embargo, hemos explicado que en el juego de fuerzas que mueven la dinámica de la crisis teórica, no todas juegan a favor de un gran cambio de paradigma. De forma que, a pesar de algunos síntomas claros, no es posible afirmar categóricamente que este está en marcha y sea irreversible. Pero, en todo caso, sí hemos constatado que por lo que hace a las ideas que en mayor medida repercuten en la formación de políticas económicas, un cambio significativo resultará difícil de evitar.
