Abstract

Morphological and sedimentary field data were collected in fourteen beaches of both sides of the Ria de Vigo. A profile was surveyed in each beach and two surface sediment samples were taken at the supratidal and intertidal section. A wave propagation model was employed to show the energetic conditions evolution inside the ria. The analysis of these data shows the relationships between sedimentary parameters (sorting, mean, and carbonatic content), morphology (profile slope) and hydrodynamic processes. Mainly, the study reflects an influence of wave climate conditions over morpho-sedimentary features in the beaches located in the Ria de Vigo
