Abstract

The hyper-glycaemia is the main characteristic of the etiopathogenie of diabetic complications, this is a metabolic chronic affection, important morbidity and mortality cause and it is considered a health problem in the world. The metabolic control by means of the hygienic, dietary and medicinal treatment is essential, from there the importance of the development new medications that contribute to achieve this objective. Objective: Taking into account the effectiveness of FZ demonstrated in the pre-clinical researches and the innocuousness of acute toxicity and sub-chronicle we proposes to determine the capability of FZ to produce mutagenesis. Material and Method: We make the proofs following lines of OCDE' guidelines, 1993 (FDA and of the European Economic Community of 1993, for genotoxicity essays (section 4. Health Effects) Results: Under the conditions that accomplished the researches and the level of employed dose, FZ did not evidence genotoxics effects, neither cytostatics in rats and mice. Conclusions: FZ does not produce genotoxic damage.
