Resumo

Recoveries from the lberian Peninsula of ringed Kittiwakes are studied by means of ringing data and reports from Spain and Portugal. A large proportion of recoveries, 60.9% (n=41), are located in the Bay of Biscay; most of them are juveniles and the recoveries occur moinly in the period from November to January. In this area many birds die because of fishing nets and hunting. Along the Atlantic coast 11 recoveries showed dispersal further than the Bay of Biscay, and on the Mediterranean coast only four ringed birds were recorded. About 80% of the recoveries are British birds with an important number of Kittiwakes from the colony of the Farne Islands.
