El perfil de los cuidadores no profesionales de las personas en situación de dependencia en la provincia de Lugo

Abstract

The research introduced here is defined in the province of Lugo, one of the four provinces of the autonomous community of Galicia. The main objective is to know and to study the profile of non professional caregiver, among the beneficiaries of the economic benefit for caring in the home environment, one of the compensations of Catalog Services and Benefits of the System for Autonomy and Attention to the Dependence. Using a observational descriptive study of prevalence, the main objective is to know the profile of those people that are signed up in the special Agreement for caregivers. The data shows that the majority of non professional caregivers are women that belong to the family network of the person in dependence situation. In view of the results, it appears that is perpetuated the role of women in the role of daughter-caregiver of her parents, even exceeding the data obtained in previous studies.
