Abstract

According to the opinions of this group of students and young geographers, dissident geographies constitute geographies of transgression, representing a break-off point from established normality. A plurality of approaches leads to a diversity of dissidence: from the perspective of ideology, of the object under study or of methodology. Nevertheless, in spite of uncertainties, there is consensus over the need to develop a geography that is critical, reflective and committed, one that opts for the construction of a more egalitarian, cultured and democratic society, aiming for a future that is respectful of both the environment and human diversity.
