Abstract

This study identifies trends in public relations research at international level based on pubilshed papers in the Journal of Public Relations Research from 2012 to 2014. Furthermore, it aims at evaluating this journal as a prospective communication channel for Spanish researchers in public relations. The analysis includes a rating of contents, authorship, citations and whether the concept “public relations” appears literally in the title, the abstract or both. Main results reveal a prevalence of northamerican authors, mainly women working on applied research on a wide range of topics, mainly crisis communication, public opinion and emerging technologies.
