Abstract

Description of skills and expectations regarding the use of a training platform for Students of Higher Education Physical Education (Pontevedra) This study shows an experiment carried out by a group of teachers from the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences of Pontevedra on the use of TEMA e-learning platform that offers virtual support to teaching. The objectives were mainly to provide a description of the previous expectations of students on the platform and how it can influence on their teaching-learning process, also reviewed the experience on their use and contribution to skills defined under EEES Grade titles. Semistructured questionnaires were used before and after the educational intervention in each subject, differentiated for the Teacher-Physical Education Specialist and Physical Education and Sports Graduate in terms of the skills included. 130 of 274 people have participated, with response rate of 44.84%. The results on the expectations regarding the contributions of the platform are very high in the pretest in comparison with posttest. In future interventions, this forces to reframe the use of the platform to better advantage. On skills a deeper critical analysis is needed on some issues, such as collaborative work, interpersonal relations and leadership skills, because the students think that the contribution to these skills were not enough. However, the TEMA platform has been evaluated as a positive tool in the process of Higher Education Physical Education student’s teaching.
