Resumo

The concept of sustainable development has been evolved through the different cultural, social and economic factors that have been occurring. Thus, the classics draw a great attention to natural and financial resources. Schumpeter (1934) highlights the innovative role of the entrepreneur. Marshall (1920) emphasizes the importance of big business. In the 1950s and 1960s there were formally different growth models. From the eighties approaches were emphasized according to the innovation and impact of human and social capital. More recently it has spread and strengthened the proposal of business clusters as a strategy to promote the economic development. The present research, of a theoretical sort, it examines the first situation of the theory of the business from a cluster of knowledge. He then discusses some of the elements of the theory of intellectual capital in the business world in order to study the relationship between business cluster and intellectual capital.
