Resumo

This paper explores anxiety about death in the elderly of the province of Ourense. To do this, the scale of anxiety about death (Death Anxiety Scale) was applied to a sample of 215 individuals (Mean age: 76.6; DT: 8.1). The results show a high presence of anxiety in pain and disease factors (77.2%) and awareness of the passage of time (65.8%). Also, note that the only significant variable in all the factors that make up the construct anxiety about death, is having suffered any illness along his life.
