Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to analyze certain legal issues derived from the implementation and management of Corporate Social Responsibility (hereinafter CSR) in the Cooperative Societies. I have divided the text into four sections starting with an introductory discussion of laws, texts and basic documents on CSR. Then I address the relationship between CSR principles and those that are promulgated by the International Cooperative Alliance. Finally, I shall consider if the breach of these principles - CSR or cooperative - voluntarily assumed by a cooperative society can generate some kind of consequence from the legal point of view.
