Resumo
The excavation of the archaeological site of Punta Atalaia (Cervo, Lugo) revealed an active Cantabrian trade in the northern coast of Lugo, from the 4th to de mid of the 6th century. This new information implies a substantial change in previous theo-ries about the Cantabrian trade dynamics and their relationship with the Atlantic routes. We analyse in this paper the unpublished Late-Roman pottery samples of Punta Atalaia, as part of the Atlantic-Cantabrian dynamics and comparing them with other important and already studied Cantabrian sites, as Gijón, Castro Urdiales and Hondarribia. Furthermore, in order to understand the Atlantic trade dynamics of this period, the information is compared with data of Late-Roman contexts from the Atlantic coast of France and Gallaecia.
