Resumo

The existence of heavy mineral placers in the northwest coast o f Spain has been long known. The novelty o f this project consisted in the use of state-of-the-art radiometric techniques combined with advanced XRD data processing. The objective was to locate potential placers in the area and to establish more accurate their exact composition and extent. This paper reports on the survey design, procedure, data processing and the preliminary results obtained so far.
