Abstract
The aim of this work is to analyze if cupping therapy is an effective technique in pain management. A bibliographic review in the Scopus, Cinhal, Medline and WoS databases was made. Twenty-two articles were obtained, with great heterogeneity in terms of cupping modalities, treated pathologies, study samples, duration of sessions and studied variables. Cupping therapy seems valid for pain treatment and does not appears to have significant adverse effects, but the methodological quality of the studies should be increased.
