Resumen
Three gravity cores extracted from the Galicia margin were studied in order to identify and characterize Heinrich layers. Magnetic parameters such as magnetic susceptibility (κ), ARM100 and low temperature measurements (remanence and susceptibility) were used to determine the mineralogical components of these events. The development of loops on the ARM100 vs. K plot shows an increasing grain size trend at these levels. This feature, along with the identification of stoicheometricmagnetite grains by low temperature techniques, supports that ice rafting was responsible for the transport of such material to the Galician margin.
