Resumo
The modifications produced by climate change make it necessary to establish mitigation and adapta-tion strategies for livestock sector. Extensive livestock farming is a sector that adapts continuously anddynamically to the changes and conditions that arise, making it a very important tool as part of the so-lution to climate change. Their resilience involves efficient use of resources and proper scheduling oftheir use that guarantees sustainable management of pastures, animals and farms to mitigate climatechange, minimizing waste generation and allowing agricultural-livestock synergy. The management ofthe pastoral systems will have a fundamental role in minimizing the climatic impact on livestock by con-tributing to conserve biodiversity. Furthermore, forecasting systems are essential for the developmentof adaptation strategies, anticipating decision-making and avoiding as far as possible the adverse ef-fects caused by climate change
