Résumé

Doctoral Thesis has addressed the influence of the auto-hydrolysis temperature over Arundo Donax and Paulownia fortunei on both monomer and olygomer extraction of the initial raw material. Process variables have been optimized in order to maximize the efficiency of such extraction. The residual solid phase was subjected to pulping process. The de-lignified material was further used to make paper sheets. Operational variables such as ethanol concentration, temperature and pulping time were shifted through the design space in order to check out the influence of those variables over typical dependent parameters such as pulping efficiency, viscosity, kappa number, chemical composition of pulps and physical characterization of paper sheets.Paulownia Fortunei shows better results: maximun glucose (0.92 g/L) and xilose contents (1.62 g/L) were found in the liquid phase. The auto-hydrolysis process at 190ºC did not significantly affected to the physical properties of the paper sheets. Pulps were characterized by pulping efficiencies of 38% and kappa numbers of 45 at 180ºC, 30 min and 20% of ethanol concentration. At the same pulping condition, paper sheets showed a brightness of 27.4%ISO as well as stretch, burst and tear indexes of 28.87 Nm/g, 1.22 kPam2/g and 1.23 kNm2/g, respectively.
