Resumo
Coming from both on-land and marine activities, marine plastic debris represents a major environmental problem. Annually, more than 12 tons accumulate in ports, on shores, in the depths of the ocean, etc. The European CircularSeas project addresses this problem by combining 3D printing technology, Circular Economy principles and the use of plastic waste generated by the maritime-port industries. The goal is to develop eco-friendly products, parts and components that will be used by these industries. The article aims to answer whether 3D printing technology can bring benefits to the maritime-port sectors, where manufacturing, prototyping and customization of products have not traditionally been its business activity. Another question to answer is how 3D printing could accommodate recycled plastic in a feasible and useroriented way in these industries. To do this, the article proposes a new integrated 3D printing framework adaptable to recycled plastic feedstock from marine waste and user-oriented.
