Tafoni are small caves frequently developed in granitic rocks. These forms are basal and lateral hollows on the undersides of the rock mass, extended upwards. They show a size range from cm to m with diverse opening plane shape. Their inner walls may be regular, flaked, honeycombed, ribbed or scalloped. The systematic register and analysis of these cavities into several tafoni in Galicia (Ourense massif) demonstrates their morphological diversity related to the landform development. The results of this study show different paths between constant and changeable trends. Thresholds between development stages involve diversification of the inner morphology that is related to self-limitation feedbacks.
