Abstract
This paper is intended to provide an insight into the main archaeological and iconographical evidence from the Amarna period, in order to analyse if they had contributed to a social reaction derived from Akhenaten’s religion imposition, during the Late 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties. During these dynasties, personal religion or piety was increased and the old devotional sentiment experienced some changes that can be appreciated in the religious practices that took place throughout Egypt. To approach this objective, the most important settlements for these periods: Tell el-Amarna and Deir el-Medina, will be described and studied, providing archaeological artefacts and structures as evidence, in the domestic realm.
