Zusammenfassung
The aim of this paper is to present the main lines of evolution of Spanish tourism in this phase of the irruption of mass tourism, from 1951 to 1962, through the main variables of tourist demand, supply and production. This presentation makes it possible to identify two tourist booms, the change in the tourist model and the transition from “país de turismo” to “país turístico” which is moving towards positions of international leadership and which has, in tourist income, a key element of its development model.
