Abstract

Pierre Quiroule published "La ciudad anarquista americana" in Buenos Aires in 1914. A few years later "El amor dentro de 200 años", written by Alfonso Martínez Rico, was released in Valencia. Both works are characteristic of the libertarian utopian thinking of the early XXth century and they both portray Anarchy as an ideal social status. However, they also display an important difference: while the former depicts an already achieved society, the latter only gets there at the end of the story. This disparity resulted in the use of different narrative techniques, some of which originated in the utopic tradition, while others were entirely original.
