Abstract

This Doctoral Thesis is made up of the compendium of three articles whose common objective is to analyze the impact on the benefit of the Spanish agricultural company of the costs and the need to guide the financing of this type of company. The first study analyzes the determinants of profitability in Spanish agricultural companies, concluding a positive influence of sticky costs on profitability, thus demonstrating the existence of these costs. The second study focuses on analyzing the behavior of costs in the Spanish agricultural company and studying whether the legal form of the company can affect the existence of sticky costs. The results obtained suggest that cooperative companies and public limited companies have a greater tendency to generate sticky cost behavior compared to limited companies. The third article deals with the study of the cooperative as one of the most important business forms in the Spanish agricultural sector. The objective of this work has been to analyze the preferences of investors in agricultural cooperatives. Declaring profitability as one of the determining factors in investment in cooperatives and its control as a factor that is very present when investing in the type of instrument proposed, also allowing the identification of two classes of investors Depending on their preferences, on the one hand, there are the owners (return seekers) and on the other the workers (risk averse).
