Abstract

This paper reflects on the main challenges facing the automotive industry and their impact on the elements of the global value chain. Advanced mobility linked to autonomous vehicles, connectivity and sustainability have been identified as the key factors that are transforming the value chain. The companies linked to the advanced mobility have acquired a high level of decision-making power, participating in the activities with the highest added value and technological innovation, and reconfiguring the governance model and the productive geography of the traditional global value chain.
