Abstract

In today's society, people need a time to escape from their daily routine, time that has been increased to the best working conditions (reduction of the workday and regulatory holidays). As option to enjoy in leisure time, part of the population has chosen to live experiences in a rural or agricultural environment. Thus, in the XXI century, agrotourism emerges as an alternative to urban environments, where much of the population has taken up residence. Therefore, this article begins with the evolution of the concept of agritourism, and finally does an analysis of the profile of «agrotourist» today through empirical research conducted in the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat (Cataluña).
