Abstract

In 2021, the second volume of volume XIX (Gramineae, partim) of the general plan of the work Flora iberica, begun in 1986, was published. With the work completed, overall evaluations can be made such as its relationship with specific territories such as Galicia. Information has been collected on each name such as its taxonomic position, type of citation, endemic or allochthonous character, whether or not it is a nomenclatural novelty, provincial distribution and authorship of each section, in relation to the territory of Galicia, globally or at a national level. provincial. Thus, a database of 2,783 records was created, from which the following results have been obtained. Information has been compiled on 153 families, 813 genera, 2,269 species, 2,503 taxa if the infraspecific categories are included, 13 endemic and 236 circumdemic taxa, 251 alien plants from the peninsular territory and 32 local exotic plants, 1 considered extinct [Rhynchospora modesti-lucennoi Castrov. in Nordic J. Bot. 15: 569 (1995)] and two taxa to be eliminated [Erigeron diplopappoides Schauer in Linnaea 19: 722 (1847) Schauer in Linnaea 19: 722 (1847) and Leymus arenarius (L.) Hochst. in Flora 31: 118 (1848)]. A Coruña has 1,382 species and 1,504 taxa, 5 of them endemic to the province; Lugo is the most diverse province with 1,625 species and 1,778 taxa, but like Ourense it does not have any of its own endemism; Ourense has 1,571 species and 1,719 taxa and Pontevedra, has 1,370 species and 1,487 taxa and a plant endemic to the province. Information compiled on the habitat, altitude, flowering period and distribution of the taxa mentioned for Galicia is also provided. These data represent a decrease of three families with respect to the last specific catalog of Galicia published in 2008, but an increase of two genera and 113 taxa, although the data must be interpreted taking into account, among other factors, the nomenclatural changes produced in recent years. years. 827 bibliographic references have also been compiled in the 25 volumes of Flora iberica in relation to Galicia.
