Abstract

In this paper we approach the figures of inheritance and novelty, following Derrida's configuration of these two motives, that is, being unloyal to inheritance in order to attain novelty. For this purpose, we use a reading of two thinkers who do not usually do deconstruction and whose debate with Derrida "while he still lived" was scarce or plainly inexistent: Fredric Jameson and Slavoj Žižek. These authors, in our reading, are to be bastard heirs to certain deconstructive discourse, or as Derrida would put it, simply heirs caught up in a deconstructive drift.
