Análisis de la situación sociolingüística de la juventud del municipio de Pontevedra

Resumo

The present article shows partial results of a research study about perceptions, attitudes, and linguistic uses of the youth of Pontevedra regarding the contact and linguistic change. This study is based on a perception test of linguistic variation and a sociolinguistic questionnaire in which participated 219 students of the first and fourth year of high school from different types of habitats of the municipality of Pontevedra. Specifically, his paper presents the results obtained from the first block of the sociolinguistic questionnaire that allow us to know the declared competence and linguistic practices in different areas of use, as well as issues related to the changes in the linguistic repertoire. The overall results show a strongly Castilianized environment, especially in key areas for youth such as digital audiovisual content platforms and social networks
