Introduction: The aim of the study was to describe the physical demands in different training tasks and soccer matches. Method: 36 professional Spanish soccer players (25.9 ± 3.6 years, 1.82 ± 0.05 m, 75,9 ± 5,7 kg). were monitored. The intensity variables analyzed were: intensity (INT, distance covered per minute) and density (DEN, sum of accelerations / decelerations in relation to total duration), in both absolute and relative terms related to the competition. Different tasks were compared: technical figures (FIG), possession drills (RON), high intensity interval running (HIIT), high intensity interval running with change of direction (HIITCoD), small-sided games (SSG), medium-sided games (MSG), large-sided games (LSG), small positional games (SPG), medium positional games (MPG) and large positional games (LPG), for comparison between them and the matches (FUT). Results: The main findings were that HIIT, HIITCoD and friendly matches (FUT) obtained higher INT values than the rest of the tasks. Regarding the DEN, the SSG and MSG were the task formats with the highest number of accelerations and decelerations related to time. Conclusions: Only, the HIIT and SSG formats demanded higher INT and DEN respectively than the maximum values relative to the competition.
