Abstract
In this study, genomic patterns of inbreeding and coancestry across the genome were obtained for the Spanish Holstein population. Animals were genotyped with the Illumina BovineSNP50 BeadChip. After applying filtering criteria, the genomic dataset included 36,693 autosomal SNPs and 10,569 animals. SNP-based inbreeding and coancestry at intra-chromosomal level was calculated using 5 Mb sliding windows. SNPbased measures show different patterns of inbreeding and coancestry on specific chromosome regions. Also, there were clear differences in patterns of inbreeding and coancestry between individuals born in 1960-1979 and individuals born in 2013. These differences could be useful for detecting selection signatures
