Abstract

This study analyzes the contents of popular and traditional games and the ways they are promoted in primary and secondary education in the municipality of Boiro. A comparative analysis between primary education and secondary education teachers in as many as nine categories of information that reflect knowledge and practice of popular and traditional games in general, and in particular reflects their knowledge of bowling due to its historical significance in this region. It draws on a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured personal interviews as a tool for data collection. The result of the study demonstrates the proper development of these practices in schools based on what constitutes the educational curriculum; however there is insufficient knowledge, practice and promotion for these types of games if the goal of the schools is to strengthen and develop the practice of these traditional games among students
