Inclusion causes many reflections, questions, adjustments, adaptations, and transformations in higher education institutions. Understanding the impact of inclusion in their praxis is important. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the weaknesses, strengths, threats, and opportunities of higher education institutions regarding inclusion, as well as their impact on the innovative practice and the changes produced in management. This study is based on the state of the art, the documentary analysis, and the anecdote registration. As results, the analysis of the impact of inclusion in the innovative practice of higher education institutions reveals modifications in the mission of the university, reforms in the legal framework, transformations in management, novelties in procedures, transitions in the teaching, renewals of resources, new researching lines, possibilities in the transfer of knowledge, etc. The design of flexible frameworks, universal designs, technological uses, the design of new resources, the review of procedures and actions, changes of perspective, or the revision of attitudes question the inertia and convert inclusion in a promoter factor of the innovation.
