Resumo
In order to reduce significantly energy consumption and oil dependence, Spanish Government has, recently, set an ambitious objective in terms of electric and hybrid cars. Spain should have 1.000.000 of electric and hybrid cars in year 2014. This paper analyses all the different «green technologies» currently available in the Spanish market and compares them with the traditional gasoline and gasoil engines. These green technologies are bioethanol 85, biodiesel, conventional hybrid cars, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas vehicle and electric vehicle. The paper concludes that the most efficient technology from the point of view of the consumer is the electric one
