Resumo

The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between innovation and price changes, distinguishing between process and product innovations. The former directly affects production costs, the changes of which could be transferred to prices. The latter enables companies to differentiate their products vertically or horizontally and increases the consumers willingness to pay, which may lead companies to raise prices. The results show that firms that introduce product innovations are more likely to raise prices and firms that introduce process innovations are more likely to reduce them. The magnitudes of the effects are different
