Abstract

Portugal and Spain have gone forging a new frame of collaboration in the cultural and communicative field in the iberoamerican stage with the change of century. The Iberian exchange with Latin America has gone growing in intensity and quality, what has produced a greater knowledge and confidence in the development of conjoint projects. However, the strategy of Portuguese and Spanish cooperation results divergent in many respects. While the Portuguese cooperation concentrates his effort investor fundamentally in Brazil, Spain has a more global strategy. And between both countries, inside the European frame, the strategy of exchange also is uneven. This article pretends to analyse, from a Portuguese perspective, the main actions of cultural collaboration between Portugal and Spain in the iberoamerican context in the period 1997-2007. The methodology employed follows qualitative and quantitative techniques and uses sources of documentary character of the Spanish and Portuguese governments.
