Résumé

The article below is presented aims to analyze the main educational discourses that have been critical of the educational project of modernity. That is, those belonging within the scope of the libertarian pedagogy and critical sociology. It is intended to show how all of them, despite their significant differences, have distinguished themselves by rejecting this project because of its authoritarian and inegalitarian nature. For this reason they contributed to delegitimizing the institutional order that supported, giving the subject a greater role. This way the two spheres- institutional and individual-, that modernity had remained united as part of their socializing and liberating program, have separated. In a different context, this critical has influenced the current educational discourses forming a kind of " new spirit of education " aimed at legitimizing the new educational realities.
