Resumo

This paper provides an evolutionary analysis of fition contents broadcasted by Antena 3, the first private television station in Spain. It is approached the main serial products included in the prime time slot between 1990 —the year in which the regular private television broadcasting began— and 2010 —date of the digital switchover in Spain—. We conducted this review structured around four business and corporate stages of the channel through we can warn a direct relationship between the changes in the shareholding and its management team and the modifications related to some aspects of the image and the programming contents. Thus, regarding to fiction programming, we can observe the commitment to a certain genres and concern for specific groups of viewers in line with its overall strategy as a TV station.
