Resumo

The aim is to analyze the current scientific literature to know if there is a relationship between lumbar lordosis and low back pain. A search was made in the Medline, Pubmed and Cinahl databases, using the descriptors "lordosis" and "low back pain". 111 results were obtained and, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 14 valid articles were analyzed. The articles analyzed investigate the changes that occur in lumbar lordosis with different positions, tests or exercises between people with low back pain and healthy people. We observed that a clear link between lordosis and low back pain cannot be established. It is necessary to carry out more in-depth research on the subject, establishing the variables and characteristics that the study participants must meet, as well as the type of back pain, the most frequent ages where the pain develops and the most appropriate measurement protocol for lumbar lordosis.
