Abstract
In this paper we analyse the figure of the interpreter-character incinema from the lenses of interpreting typology, the interpreter’sseriousness in recreating their work, and their professionalism inthe face of the communicative situations in which the figure of alinguistic and cultural mediator is required. With that purpose, welook into the leading roles and interpreters from three fictionalfilms: La niña de tus ojos (Trueba 1998) for liaison interpreting,The Interpreter (Pollack 2005) for simultaneous interpreting, andJe l’aimais (Breitman 2009) for consecutive interpreting.
